Law360, New York (December 22, 2010, 7:44 PM ET) -- Halliburton Co. is saying it will pay $35 million to settle bribery charges brought by the Nigerian government over billions of dollars in natural gas contracts, at odds with an earlier Nigerian report that put the settlement at $250 million.
When asked about the discrepancy between the settlement amounts, a Halliburton spokeswoman said Wednesday only that the company's statement, issued Tuesday, was accurate.
