Synopsys, Magma Make Peace

Law360, New York (March 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a number of long, drawn-out patent battles, Synopsys Inc. and Magma Design Automation have made peace, with Magma agreeing to pay $12.5 million and the companies agreeing to a cross-licensing deal.

The settlement will put to rest pending litigations in California and Delaware federal courts, the companies announced on Thursday.

The electronic design automation software providers also agreed not to initiate any further patent litigation for the two years, as long as they stick to the cross-licensing deal.
