BofA Exits RealTime Data Compression Patent Suits

Law360, New York (January 04, 2011, 1:50 PM ET) -- RealTime Data LLC has dropped Bank of America Corp. from infringement suits over several data compression patents, marking the first deal in litigation that has ensnared the country's leading investment banks.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Monday approved the parties' agreed motion to dismiss the bank and its subsidiaries Banc of America Securities LLC, Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. and Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. from three related suits.
