Feds Flag PG&E Safety Records After Pipeline Blast

Law360, New York (January 4, 2011, 2:57 PM EST) -- The National Transportation Safety Board is urging PG&E Corp. to upgrade how it tracks and monitors natural gas pipeline operating pressure, as the agency continues to probe a deadly September PG&E pipeline blast.

The NTSB issued seven recommendations — six of which were labeled urgent — to PG&E on Monday, addressing what officials said are record-keeping deficiencies that could lead to pipelines being operated at higher pressures than they were built to withstand.
