Google Exits Cell Phone Locator Patent Row

Law360, New York (January 4, 2011, 5:39 PM EST) -- Emsat Advanced Geo-Location Technology LLC has released Google Inc. from a patent infringement suit over cell phone locater technology, agreeing to drop references to the technology giant's mobile software from claims against fellow defendant T-Mobile USA Inc.

Judge John R. Adams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio approved a deal Monday requiring Emsat to dismiss with prejudice its infringement claims related to T-Mobile's use of Google Maps for Mobile, Google Latitude and Google Navigation features on its mobile phones.
