10th Circ. Nixes $100M Pipeline Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (January 5, 2011, 8:22 PM EST) -- Bankrupt energy firm Riviera Drilling & Exploration Co. lost its bid Wednesday to revive a $100 million antitrust case against Gunnison Energy Corp., which it accused of setting artificially high prices for its gas pipeline in Colorado.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit upheld a lower court's dismissal of Riviera's case. Riviera lost its counsel about three weeks before a 13-day trial was slated to begin, ultimately leading to the dismissal of the case with prejudice.
