Tribune, Lenders Resist Further Ch. 11 Discovery

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 8:12 PM EST) -- Tribune Co. and lenders co-sponsoring its proposed reorganization plan are resisting requests for additional discovery into the plan’s core settlement, saying the requests threaten to delay plan confirmation hearings set to begin March 7.

Lender JPMorgan Chase & Co. is taking a particularly unreasonable stance with respect to discovery, attorneys for Aurelius Capital Management — the proponent of a competing plan in the bankruptcy — said Monday during a conference call in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
