NAFTA Partners Work On Telecom Tests, Rules Of Origin

Law360, New York (January 11, 2011, 1:59 PM EST) -- The U.S. has left a meeting with its North American trading partners with a new agreement in place to coordinate the testing of telecommunications equipment and new updates to the rules of origin under the North American Free Trade Agreement.

A working group of officials from the U.S., Canada and Mexico reached an initial agreement on a fourth set of changes to the rules of origin that should help more goods qualify for duty-free treatment, the countries’ trade officials said in a joint statement Monday....
