NJ Co. Recalls 200,000 Pounds Of Beef Sent To Prisons

Law360, New York (January 11, 2011, 7:32 PM EST) -- An Elizabeth, N.J., company has recalled more than 200,000 pounds of ground beef from California and Oregon prisons after a U.S. Department of Agriculture inspection found that returned meat had been recoded, repackaged and sent out again.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service inspected the beef manufactured by Onegreat Burger Inc. after receiving complaints about discolored and malodorous meat, the agency announced Tuesday.
