ITC To Probe Remy Auto Part Patent Claims

Law360, New York (January 13, 2011, 3:53 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission launched an investigation Thursday into claims that a number of U.S. and Chinese companies have imported auto parts that infringe seven patents belonging to Remy International Inc.

The agency voted to open a probe based on a pair of complaints the company and one of its subsidiaries filed in December and early January accusing three Chinese companies and five U.S.-based companies of violating its patents for starter motors and alternators.
