Mattel, MGA Set For Next Round In Bratz Fight

Law360, New York (January 14, 2011, 6:58 PM EST) -- After nearly seven years of litigation, the latest phase of Mattel Inc. and MGA Entertainment Inc.'s bitterly fought intellectual property dispute is set to begin Tuesday, with the opening of the second trial over Mattel's allegations that MGA stole trade secrets related to the Bratz doll line.

The new trial in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California was prompted by an appeals court's July decision that vacated a jury verdict awarding Mattel $100 million and control of the Bratz line.
