NY Drops Last Marsh Bid-Rigging Cases

Law360, New York (January 14, 2011, 1:49 PM ET) -- Following several stinging defeats, the New York Attorney General's Office dropped its last two criminal cases Friday against ex-Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. executives linked to a 2004 bid-rigging scheme, according to an attorney for one of the former defendants.

The decision by new Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman's office came just weeks after his predecessor dropped an appeal of New York State Supreme Court Judge James A. Yates's July 2 reversal of the convictions of William Gilman and Edward McNenney.
