Patent Co. Slaps Fan Maker With IP, Contract Suit

Law360, New York (January 19, 2011, 12:13 PM EST) -- Papst Licensing GmbH & Co. KG has accused Taiwan-based brushless fan and blower manufacturer Tranyoung Technology Corp. of infringing two patents covering fan technology and breaching a licensing agreement.

The German patent-licensing company filed its complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The complaint alleges that Tranyoung breached a licensing agreement between the companies allowing Tranyoung to use Papst patents for its fans.
