Drug Cos. Try To Keep Cephalon Case Info Under Wraps

Law360, New York (January 19, 2011, 1:06 PM EST) -- A slew of drug companies are seeking to intervene in the Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust suit alleging Cephalon Inc. paid off generics competitors in a reverse payment agreement over the patent for narcolepsy drug Provigil.

In a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, more than 40 drugs companies — including GlaxoSmithKline PLC, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer Inc. — asked Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg to bar the disclosure of confidential information about separate lawsuits and settlements.
