Army Officer Gets 5 Years For Bribery

Law360, New York (January 20, 2011, 1:35 PM EST) -- A U.S. Army contracting officer has been sentenced to five years in prison for accepting money and gifts in exchange for influencing Army contracts.

Army Major Roderick D. Sanchez, 45, of Pueblo, Colo., was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Christine M. Arguello of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine, and to forfeit Rolex watches, real estate and other property purchased with his ill-gotten gains.
