Discrimination Claim Emerges In U.S. Attorney Row

Law360, New York (April 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice may have violated a federal law protecting military personnel from job discrimination when it fired one of eight U.S. Attorneys at the center of a widening scandal on Capitol Hill, according to an independent federal agency.

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel urged fired U.S. Attorney for New Mexico David Iglesias to file a complaint with the agency this week accusing the DOJ of using his duties as a captain in the Navy Reserve against him, according to a Newsweek report....
