Fresenius Sues Zydus Over Generic PhosLo GelCaps

Law360, New York (January 21, 2011, 6:11 PM ET) -- Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. on Friday slapped Zydus Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. with a patent infringement suit in an effort to block Zydus from marketing a generic version of Fresenius' PhosLo GelCaps.

James M. Flaherty Jr. of Foley Hoag LLP lodged the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleging that Zydus' attempts to make a sell its own version of the calcium acetate gelcaps infringes U.S. Patent Number 6,576,665.
