Comcast, Others Face IP Suit Over Video-On-Demand

Law360, New York (January 24, 2011, 2:29 PM ET) -- Pragmatus VOD LLC has accused a handful of cable companies, including Comcast Corp., Cox Communications Inc. and Time Warner Cable Inc., of infringing two patents with their video-on-demand services.

Brian E. Farnan of Farnan LLP lodged the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Thursday, slapping the cable companies with claims that they have infringed U.S. Patent Numbers 5,636,139 and 5,581,479.

Bright House Networks LLC, Cablevision Systems Corp. and Charter Communications Inc. are also targeted in the suit.
