Law360, New York (January 24, 2011, 3:28 PM ET) -- A federal jury has convicted a former municipal official in Michigan of accepting a luxury car as a bribe for helping to direct a $3.1 million public works contract to Michigan Municipal Services LLC.
Despite the bribery conviction, the jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Friday found former Ecorse City Controller Erwin Earl Hollenquest not guilty of conspiracy and a lesser bribery charge accusing him of taking $200 from the company's owner.
