Facebook To Restrict Friend Finder In Germany

Law360, New York (January 24, 2011, 6:57 PM EST) -- Facebook Inc. struck a deal with German officials Monday over its Friend Finder service, agreeing to give consumers more control over use of e-mail contacts, in a parallel dispute to a class action in federal court in California.

Facebook and the Hamburg Data Protection Authority said the social networking titan would face new restrictions on how it could use German users’ email address books to contact other users and non-users.
