ITC Eyes Game Controllers At Microsoft's Request

Law360, New York (January 25, 2011, 1:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun an investigation of Datel Holdings Ltd. in response to Microsoft Corp.'s claims that the British company is importing video game controllers that infringe a patent.

The ITC made the announcement Monday, beginning a probe into Staffordshire-based Datel and its Clearwater, Fla.-based U.S. subsidiary Datel Design and Development Inc. after Microsoft sued Dec. 23.

Microsoft, which is asking for an exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order, claims Datel is importing devices that infringe U.S. Patent Number 7,787,411, issued in 2010...
