GAO Shuts Down Protest Over Photocopied Bid Bond

Law360, New York (January 26, 2011, 2:11 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has nixed Islands Mechanical Contractor Inc.'s bid protest claiming it was improperly excluded from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contracts because of a photocopied bid bond.

In an opinion Tuesday, the GAO found no independent evidence to back up the contention of Middleburg, Fla.-based IMC that it included an original bid bond in a submission to the Army Corps seeking the job.
