Sens. Want More Studies Of Chromium-6 Levels

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 2:49 PM EST) -- Federal lawmakers on Wednesday applauded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's decision to move forward with rules limiting perchlorate in drinking water, though Republicans remained skeptical of new science suggesting the same should be done for chromium-6.

Members of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works told EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, who testified before the committee, that it supported the agency's reversal of a Bush-era decision not to set a standard for perchlorate, a chemical found in rocket fuel.
