Kraft Can't Stop Starbucks From Nixing $1B Contract

Law360, New York (January 28, 2011, 7:24 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Kraft Foods Inc.'s bid to block Starbucks Corp. from terminating an estimated $1 billion contract that gives Kraft the exclusive right to distribute the coffee giant's products in grocery stores.

Judge Cathy Seibel rejected Kraft's motion for a preliminary injunction in a hearing Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, agreeing with Starbucks that Kraft had not sufficiently shown it would suffer irreparable harm if the contract were terminated.
