Brazilian Steel Co. Challenges US Duty Review

Law360, New York (January 31, 2011, 5:37 PM EST) -- A Brazilian steel producer has sued the U.S. Department of Commerce over its second sunset review of a countervailing duty on hot-rolled steel products from Brazil, saying the agency unlawfully concluded that Brazil would continue subsidizing the product.

Companhia Siderurgica Nacional filed suit Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, seeking judicial review of Commerce's decision to continue its 6.35 percent countervailing duty on CSN's hot-rolled, flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products.
