Jackson Hewitt Sues H&R Block Over Ad Campaign

Law360, New York (February 1, 2011, 6:07 PM EST) -- Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. is asking a federal court to halt an ad campaign by H&R Block Tax Services LLC that claims H&R found errors in roughly two-thirds of Jackson Hewitt returns.

H&R Block is using its power as the nation's largest tax return service to "drown out" Jackson Hewitt through misleading ads that question its competence, giving the company an unfair competitive edge, Jackson Hewitt complained Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
