NC Dental Board Says FTC Overstepped Powers

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 1:52 PM EST) -- North Carolina's dental board has sued the Federal Trade Commission, accusing the regulator of exceeding its powers by trying to stop the state agency from barring nondentists from performing teeth-whitening services.

The North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners sued the federal competition regulator in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina on Tuesday, seven months after the FTC launched its own administrative proceeding against the board.
