Tobacco Cos. To Review New US Cigarette Warnings

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 3:52 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice is sparring with the tobacco industry over whether the federal government's proposed new cigarette warnings should be made public before the industry reviews them.

The DOJ on Thursday asked Judge Gladys Kessler of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to clarify whether she intended for the proposed warnings, required under a 2006 ruling by Kessler, to be filed in open court.
