EU Probe Discovers Unfair Chinese Paper Subsidies

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 6:13 PM EST) -- A European Union investigation has found the Chinese government substantially subsidizes paper manufacturers, a spokeswoman confirmed Friday, which could lead to the 27-nation bloc's first-ever countervailing duties against China.

The European Commission sent the final findings of its anti-subsidy investigation of Chinese coated paper manufacturers to that country's government Thursday, as well as to the Chinese and EU producers who took part in the review.
