Booze Monitor Maker Infringes 3 Patents, Suit Says

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 5:43 PM EST) -- BI Inc., the alcohol monitor maker set to be acquired by The GEO Group Inc. for $415 million, was sued Monday by a competitor who claims its anklet for detecting alcohol infringes three patents.

Littleton, Colo.-based Alcohol Monitoring Systems Inc. lodged a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, saying BI knew its BI TAD detection device infringed AMS patents but brazenly brought it to market anyway.
