State Health Care Waiver Bill Advances In Senate

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 5:09 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate is moving forward with legislation that would move up the date by which states can claim waivers from the health care reform law in order to test-drive their own health care delivery solutions.

Senators voted unanimously on Monday to discharge S. 248, the Empowering States To Innovate Act, from consideration by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee. It now heads to the Senate Finance Committee, after which it will go to the full Senate for a final vote.
