Atlas, Chevron Settle Suits Ahead Of Vote On $4B Deal

Law360, New York (February 09, 2011, 2:58 PM ET) -- Atlas Energy Inc. shareholders would get an additional $7 million — or 10 cents a share — as part of a settlement to end proposed class action claims that a $4.3 billion takeover bid by energy giant Chevron Corp. undervalued the natural gas company.

Moon Township, Pa.-based Atlas Energy announced the settlement of litigation pending in Delaware Chancery court in a filing dated Monday with the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission. The deal comes ahead of a Feb. 16 Atlas Energy shareholder vote on the acquisition....
