Mazda, ViewSonic Sued Over Traffic Alert Patents

Law360, New York (February 11, 2011, 1:28 PM EST) -- Continuing a patent offensive, Traffic Information LLC has accused Mazda Motor of America Inc., Cydle America Corp. and ViewSonic Corp. of violating the rights to its traffic detection technology.

The complaint, lodged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims that ViewSonic, a consumer electronics and communication products company, makes devices that incorporate technology protected by U.S. Patent Number 6,466,862, “System for providing traffic information.”
