Tax Preparer's Ex-Wife Gets 5 Years For $28M Fraud

Law360, New York (February 10, 2011, 7:58 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Thursday sentenced the ex-wife of the mastermind of a $28 million fraudulent tax preparation operation to five years in prison for her role in running the New Jersey office of the scheme.

Judge Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York imposed a sentence below the sentencing guidelines and what the government had sought because he said Paulette Bullock had stopped her involvement and was not the ultimate leader of the fraud.
