Marvell Faces Infringement Suit Over Hard Drive IP

Law360, New York (February 14, 2011, 7:03 PM EST) -- Santa Clara, Calif.-based microchip company Link A Media Devices Corp. has sued crosstown rival Marvell Semiconductor Inc. for allegedly infringing a patent on hard drive technology.

LAMD filed suit against Marvell on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, accusing it of deliberately infringing a patent on the hardware backbone for hard drives. The plaintiff claims it has been irreparably harmed by the alleged infringement.
