DOL Budget Cuts Could Hurt Worker Safety, Solis Says

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 2:51 PM EST) -- Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis told a U.S. House of Representatives panel Wednesday that cuts to the Department of Labor's budget in a recently proposed Republican spending bill could jeopardize worker safety and lead to layoffs at the agency.

Solis appeared before the House's Education and the Workforce Committee at a hearing geared toward examining the DOL's policies and priorities.
