Inspire Settles AzaSite False Marking Suit

Law360, New York (February 15, 2011, 3:47 PM EST) -- Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to pay Pharmaceutical Technologies LLC and the U.S. government a total of $150,000 to resolve a suit alleging it advertised eye infection treatment AzaSite with patents that did not cover the product or had expired.

Judge Susan Bolton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona on Monday granted Pharmaceutical Technologies’ bid to dismiss its false marking suit with prejudice against the Durham, N.C.-based biopharmaceutical company after the parties reached a settlement.
