Widow Gets $9M Over Asbestos Poisoning

Law360, New York (April 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A jury has awarded $5.5 million to the widow of a shipyard worker who allegedly died from repeated worksite exposure to asbestos, bringing the total amount she will receive in damages to $9.25 million.

The New Port News, Va. Circuit Court jury on Wednesday ordered John Crane Inc., which supplies gaskets and packing materials to shipbuilders, to pay Sandra K. Oney for the death of her husband, Vaughn, last November.
