MassMutual Sues Deutsche Bank Over $125M In MBS

Law360, New York (February 16, 2011, 4:10 PM EST) -- In the latest salvo over ill-fated mortgage-backed securities, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. accused various units of Deutsche Bank AG on Wednesday of tricking it into buying more than $125 million worth of the financial instruments.

MassMutual filed its lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, alleging the defendants violated state law by misrepresenting certain characteristics of the loans backing the securities, including that they were underwritten in line with prudent standards.
