Democrats Flee Wis. To Block Anti-Union Bill

Law360, New York (February 17, 2011, 6:12 PM EST) -- Amid huge protests in the state capitol, all of the Democrats in the Wisconsin State Senate have reportedly left the state in order to derail a vote on a budget plan that would strip most public employees of collective bargaining rights.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Thursday that law enforcement officials were searching for the 14 Democratic senators who boycotted a vote on the plan. The senators told the paper they are in undisclosed locations outside of Wisconsin.
