Crowell & Moring Atty Appointed USPTO Deputy Head

Law360, New York (February 17, 2011, 7:13 PM EST) -- A partner at Crowell & Moring LLP's Washington, D.C., office has agreed to take on the role of deputy director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke appointed Teresa Stanek Rea, a former president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and an intellectual property attorney with more than 25 years of experience, to the post on Thursday.

Locke said in a statement that Rea's impressive track record demonstrates that she would be a tremendous asset to the USPTO.
