Former Charity Honcho Gets 10 Years In Bribery Case

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 2:41 PM EST) -- The former CEO of the National Center for the Employment of the Disabled has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay about $70 million for bribing elected officials to secure federal contracts and embezzling government funds.

Judge Frank Montalvo of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas on Thursday sentenced Robert Edward Jones, former CEO and president of the El Paso, Texas-based charity, to a decade in prison and ordered him to pay $68.4 million in restitution.
