SEC, CFTC Told To Revamp High-Frequency Trade Rules

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 3:09 PM EST) -- Federal regulators on Friday heard a special joint advisory committee submit recommendations to address problems like those arising from the massive market disruptions of May 6, 2010, linked to high-frequency trading and other relatively new trading technologies.

The committee, convened by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, made recommendations across four general areas, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Chairman and CEO Richard Ketchum said.
