Mittal Hit With $27M Suit Over Pipe Problems

Law360, New York (April 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Adding to Mittal’s woes, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. has slapped the world’s largest steel producer with a $27 million suit for allegedly providing the company with defective pipes to use in its oil sands project.

Canadian Natural filed the claim with Alberta’s Court of Queen’s Bench, contending that an estimated 615 1,000 metres of a pipeline shipment supplied by Mittal was faulty and had to be extracted, the Globe and Mail reported.
