Rent-A-Center Slapped With OT Action

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 12:10 PM EST) -- A former Rent-A-Center Inc. employee has hit the company with a nationwide collective action claiming the electronics and furniture rental chain failed to properly pay overtime compensation in violation of federal and California state law.

Kevin Dennis Sullivan of Sullivan & Christiani LLP lodged Donna Gonzalez's suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California on Thursday, accusing Rent-A-Center of overstepping the Fair Labor Standards Act and California's labor code, business and professions code, and code of regulations.
