Va. Bill Would Require Disclosure Of Chinese Drywall

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 6:31 PM EST) -- A bill has cleared the Virginia General Assembly that would require real estate agents and landlords to notify potential buyers and renters if a house contains toxic and defective drywall imported from China.

The assembly passed the legislation, H.R. 1610, on Thursday,  and the disclosure aims to stop potential homeowners and tenants from suffering the health and financial problems that stem from defective Chinese drywall, the subject of much litigation over the years.
