OnStar Wants Out-Of-State Claims Nixed In Mich. Suit

Law360, New York (February 22, 2011, 7:49 PM EST) -- OnStar LLC has urged a federal judge to reconsider his decision to allow non-Michigan residents to pursue state consumer protection law claims in a proposed class action over the failure of analog-based telecommunication equipment used in OnStar safety systems.

OnStar argued in a reconsideration motion filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan that the court's Aug. 25 application of the Michigan Consumer Protection Act to a nationwide class should be overturned in light of new case law on the issue....
