High Court Asks Bush To Weigh In On LG Dispute

Law360, New York (April 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday asked the federal government to weigh in on a dispute over so-called patent exhaustion that could determine which parties in a global supply chain should pay royalties on a licensed patent.

The High Court hopes a brief from U.S. Solicitor General Paul D. Clement will help it decide if it should tackle the seven-year-old complaint filed by South Korean chip maker LG Electronics Inc. against a group of Taiwanese computer makers.
