Howard Industries Fined $2.5M After Immigration Raid

Law360, New York (February 24, 2011, 11:17 PM EST) -- Mississippi electrical products manufacturer Howard Industries Inc., which was the target of the nation's largest workplace immigration sweep, was fined $2.5 million after it pled guilty on Thursday to violating immigration law by concealing undocumented workers.

Federal prosecutors waived an indictment against Howard Industries after the company agreed to the fine, one year's probation and a guilty plea to the one-count felony, according to documents filed on the same day in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
