Colgate Sued Over Toothbrush Packages

Law360, New York (February 28, 2011, 6:23 PM ET) -- The company behind the Arm & Hammer brand sued Colgate-Palmolive Co. in New Jersey on Wednesday, alleging infringement of patents covering packaging that allows consumers to test out battery-powered toothbrushes before purchase.

Church & Dwight Co. Inc. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Jersey, accusing Colgate of selling electric toothbrushes in packaging that features a hole labeled "try me" that allows consumers to test the device, in violation of four patents covering the Arm & Hammer brand of battery-operated toothbrushes....
